Some of the colours used to paint the cover are microalgae pigments derived from the research project "Ecology of colour" developed at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), Hogent, Belgium.

CARTOGRAFIES HUMANES NOTEBOOK
This notebook is the result of a collaboration between the sculptor Lluc Margrau and the Labobratori bookbinding studio.
We have made a notebook incorporating fragments of the work “Human Cartographies” by Lluc.
“Human Cartographies” is a piece composed of a mosaic of embossed papers created from cartographic codes and coordinates of cities where Lluc has resided. With this data he generates images like the ones we see on the covers of the notebook; they are a sort of visual chronicle of his travels.
Light hitting the surface of the notebook brings out the sinuous forms of the embossing, enhanced by the characteristics of the paper. The pressure of the cliche transforms the roughness of the surface of the Arena Rough. This is smooth, almost polished, which contrasts with the unpressed surface that retains its maximum expression.
